Rets AI needed to explain a multi-step deal-flow product with nothing but screenshots and static text, asking visitors to read their way into a workflow that's fundamentally about motion. We engineered a four-act cinematic animation system, one act per pipeline stage, replacing the static explainer with a sequence visitors actually watch unfold.

Background

A CRE deal-flow platform explaining a multi-step workflow with nothing but screenshots and static text.

Rets AI’s homepage carried the weight of a workflow product with the tools of a brochure — screenshots, copy blocks, an icon-led feature list. For a platform whose actual value is a process (set a buy box, connect an inbox, score every OM, surface broker relationships that convert), static panels couldn’t carry the story. Visitors had to read their way into a product that’s fundamentally about motion: deals moving from inbox to score to decision.

The "Every OM Scored on Arrival" card: two deals enter and get denied in quick succession, then a deliberate pause before the hero deal arrives — its score ticking up live from 67 to 98 before the "PURSUE" stamp lands. The pacing itself does the persuading.

Engineering choreographed motion to replace a flat explainer

The brief came in as a v2 — the first pass used standard CSS transitions and read as generic SaaS-explainer motion. We rebuilt the motion language from first principles: a discrete five-step blur cascade instead of a smooth filter transition, giving every reveal a photographic focus-pull quality; a single deliberate camera zoom per card, timed to the primary action; a physical scale-settle pulse on key moments like a score stamp landing. Four cards, four pipeline stages, each with exactly one cinematic moment — calm setup, one dramatic beat, deliberate hold, clean exit. The system now runs as the homepage’s primary product explainer in place of the static screenshot section. Watch the full sequence play out live.
